I was in the 5th grade when the Ten Commandments where taken down in our classroom in a public school in Ohio. Every morning we started the day with the Lord's Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Then all of a sudden, one day, gone..no Ten Commandments, no Prayers. I was not a Christian then, but I did believe in God. I was young and couldn't understand, but I KNEW and felt something was wrong! I sensed it in our Teacher too..when asked by students why we were not praying no more, she just brushed it off with a sad look.

I have always said, you could post the Ten Commandments in every classroom and NOT even expand on what they mean, and they would have a natural positive impact on students. It would give them time to self reflect. I guarantee you that if we did, we would not have the mess we have in our society today. Be not deserved, "God is not Mocked" there has and will be a price to pay as a nation turning our back on God.

Not to be mean towards Jennay...but I'm a Republican that votes for the individual person...not the party. Despite her misconceptions I am also all for religion and prayer wherever one wishes to practice including schools and public offices.

I went through several private Christian schools growing up and think the Pledge of Allegiance and and the Lords prayer should be allowed wherever and whenever wanted.

You can thank the lawsuit happy parents and ambulance chasing lawyers for taking these two basic foundations of our country out of our schools.

Look at our history when involved in wars around the world. I guarantee you our soldiers who fought and died for our rights had a chaplain giving last rites when becoming a casualty...and I don't recall any one of them turning the chaplain away! In other words, in their hearts and souls, they were fighting not only for our physical freedoms...but freedom of religion and speech as well!

Sadly, we've become a nation afraid of standing up for what this nation was founded upon...In God We Trust!

while republicans are usually the ones against school prayer, most are usually christians and religions of that nature, while democrats usually consist of other religions, as seen because theyre for gay rights and abortion.
