Consentpete, I too am one of the few black kids who head banged to Quiet Riot...I love 80's metal and hair bands!
Thanks for sharing this information with the community. I always thought DuBrow was a crazy genius!

Yeah, I saw that - Kevin Dubrow was a great entertainer & even though Quiet Riot was always perceived as being an overated hair band, they really did put on a good show... I saw them in 84...

OK- bummer to hear the guy died, but the article FALSELY called Quiet Riot a HEAVY METAL band which they were most certainly not. They were a bad hair band.

I grew up listening to them too! I didn't know about this! Damn, he was great. I'm going to get out my QR tapes (haha) and listen to them as a tribute.
