They can trace the IP address of the wireless router you are using to the ISP and then to the owner. From that, they could track the MAC address of your wireless adapter and they would need to use equipment to detect your device.

Another option for tracking you is through online browsing tracing. Say you visit your bank, a government site, then a forum. Logging on the server can tell where you visited both prior to entering the site and where you left upon leaving.

The fact that you are using someone else's wireless service will complicate tracing you, but only to a certain extent. If you are doing something significant, they will certainly pursue you and they have the means to do it.

Oh, leaching off a neighbors wireless can get you in trouble as you are using a service that you are not authorized to use.

yea they can trace your ip addrees very easily. Your ip address say your country, state, town, internet provider, and coordinates of ur house. it does not matter if you are using ethernet or wifi.

Anyways. Yes, they'll find the IP of whoever you're stealing the internet from. I'm sure they can track your MAC address too. Which is very specific.

yes ... ur external ip that is asigned to the modem is visible to anyone that cares to look .. if ur on someone elses network ur pretty safe unless they catch u in the act ..
