No.
The Internet can be a dangerous place, even for a "savvy" teenager, there is a world of trouble to get into. IN the news, on top of the run of the mill, stalkers, predators and deviants you have targeting children on line. There is also a huge problem with cyber bullying.
There is no need to a child to have the Internet in their own room, other than to partake in activities on line which their parents would not approve.

It really doesn't matter if the computer access is in the bedroom or otherwise.
Some children are more mature than others.
Parents can program or deny access to specific types of websites to insure the childs on line experience is a safe one!
Teaching the good and bad of the internet is of prime concern. Letting children know about on-line predetors is paramount.
A resourceful child can always go elsewhere overnight to gain access to those less than desirable sights.
Education!

Depends on the age of the kid and how restricted or unrestricted the internet access is.
My 6 year old certainly shouldn't.
Since it's easy for predators to prey on innocent kids, I think that there should be restrictions until kids reach a certain age. What that age is, and what the restrictions are, I can't really say, though.

No they shouldn't . The reason for this is the large number of pedophiles and sociopaths looking for easy victims through the Internet.
Kids generally don't realize just how sick and twisted people can be. Adults tend to protect their children from the truly brutal real life horror stories involving abuse of children .
Kids are supposed to just be kids. Adults need to make that happen even if kids think otherwise.

.... It's up to the parents. lol.
I'm not sure what the context is. Are you asking us if there should be a law that guarantees the right, or dissalows the possibility, for children to have internet access in their rooms?
Wow. Government intervention at a whole new level. lmfao.
Maybe we should also let government tell us how to raise, educate, clothe, and medicate our children. Oh, wait....

No way! I would never allow my child to have access to the entire virtual world without some kind of supervision.

Well theres two sides to it, one is it that it is very educational, while on the other side it can be very damaging, if they get into naughty and wrong things, I think that its best to wait till the child is matured enough to understand the right from wrong, otherwise, the sitting room is just fine... lol

Oh hell no.
Under 18, under my roof means under my watch. There is nothing on the internet my kid should be on that I shouldn't be able to see when I walk by the computer. If it's "that" private -- then we have issues.

No- our computer is in the family room where the computer and her time on it can be monitored. My daughter is 15 and I still think it's a good idea.
There are way too many freaks out there. ( on here)
