Maybe it's because I live in the Cleveland area and I see more of the Browns than any other team, but ... Joshua Cribbs has been downright amazing.

Has to be Adrian Peterson. This guy didn't even play his entire senior season in college, and he comes into the league and makes this big of an impact? Insane! This guy plays for a mediocre team and is by far the biggest impact player in the league. Best RB this year? Tomlinson? No chance, Peterson is by far. Without him having the injury he was on pace to set all the single season rookie records. Peterson most impressive, hands down!

I'd have to say Brett Favre. He was written off. But he is the most valuable player to his team and has changed the entire game right now. He is commanding so much respect and is so humble about it. He's just a class act. He's passing with pin point accuracy and bullets and put the team on his shoulders when there was no running game. And he just goes out there and does it again having so much fun.

Josh Cribbs. Goes from undrafted street free agent to best
"all-around" special teams player in NFL. Remember, Devin Hester doesn't cover punts and kickoffs. Cribbs tackles like a maniac on special teams.

Many great answers here, I agree with many of them.

Adrian Peterson is the most impressive

Brett Favre is playing better than expected
Derek Anderson came out of nowhere
Randy Moss is come back player of the year

digging a little deeper, how about Derek Anderson? If Brady Quinn signed right away, this guy may never have even got a shot to play, and he's been a top-5 QB this year ever since- better numbers than Peyton Manning for crying out loud.

Most people haven't even heard of aaron kampman, d-line for the packers, but he has the most sacks in the NFL right now. He is such a hard worker and constantly plows through guys twice his size. He's my new hero :)

Adrian Peterson. I usually don't pay attention to rookies, but this guy has really carried a team on his back. I expected him to be a little better than Marshawn Lynch, but this guy plays like he's been in the league for at least 3 years.
