Is it outselling the xbox 360? Will sell more in total than the 360?

I doubt it's outselling the xbox just yet.. It's still relatively new in comparision to the xbox..
It may do soon since there's too much of a high demand on the wii and not enough to go around, so needless to say people may turn to the ps3 for a christmas gift, even though it's far more expensive and hits less of an audience, you.
It's still in third place, but obviously it was the third to be released so in a way its understandable. Personally I think they've launched it at the wrong time, and it's far to price in comparison to the wii which is far cheaper and the games are cheaper, pluuuuuus the whole family can enjoy.

I'm not sure of how many PS3's have been sold recently, but I have seen many people on Yahoo Answers that have just recently got a PS3, I mean a lot of people and I'm not just making this up.
The PS3's sales will go up this holiday season for sure though. I think that the PS3 is the most desired console with the Wii being the next desired console. When you look at how many PS2's were sold (over 100 million worldwide) it's obvious that the PS3 will eventually outsell the Xbox 360 in about 2 years at least.

It's beaten the Wii on sales in Japan two weeks in a row. It's been beating the 360 on weekly sales in the UK and Europe since the hype of Halo 3 and the Elite died down. It's sold about the same amount as the 360 did in the same amount of time and that's including the fact that it was only released in Europe in March.( http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php ) And all this is before most of the PS3s biggest games have came out (MGS4, Final Fantasy XIII, Killzone 2 etc.). Sales of the PS3 have increased but they were never as bad as they were made out to be.
Surveys have shown that PS2 owners have more brand loyalty and out of the next-gen consoles the majority of them are planning to get a PS3. As there are over 100 million PS2 owners I think it's pretty definite that the PS3 will outsell the 360.

not drastically, although a few recent games that were very good have improved sales a little bit.
