GOOD For you! So RARE to find a young person with that kind of internal fortitude to want to wait for someone special!
Me, I was married at 28 years of age (so yes, I waited), however, I should have waited much longer -- for this was a short disaster of a marriage to an abusive, violent sociopath. The only reason I fell for his lies was that:
a. I was already on Active Duty with the US Military for a while
b. I buried my parents and had no one that was around me to care for me and TELL me this was a bad, bad thing (and he was totally wrong for me).
Now ...
I am over half-century of age, have waited for a few decades since the collapse of that horror (and the subsequent Divorce), and just this year, someone special did come into my life -- and we started dating. He is completely opposite the ex -- The one I am dating is Kind, Gentle, Caring and Loving -- and tells me so -- and won't take anything from me either!
SO ... much, much better to WAIT for that special someone ... because there are too many out there who prey on the vulnerable and/or lonely. (And ... it is also important to have good friends/family around you who can feel comfortable telling you when SOMEONE is NOT "RIGHT" for you too directly to your face!)

I got married at 23 and now realize I wasn't ready. I was married to the jerk for 17 years and left when I was 40 (that was 2 1/2 years ago).

I have found my Mr Right and will be married til death do us part. He loves not only me but my 3 sons (25,23,17) and my parents. He helped me take care of my dying mother and held me tight as she took her last breath, knowing that this was going to be very hard on me.
Congrats on the decisions you have made. God will bring you that special lady. Just be patient. Good Luck.

First time - 18
Second Time - 21
Third Time - 25
Three strikes - you're out!!!! 34 and happily divorced (again)
Its taken me this long to learn my lesson... First time I was trying to get back at the world, second one I was trying to keep the lifestyle, third time I was too scared to say no and RUN away!
its all been a good learning experience though - I know what NOT to do now!!!

22, but divorced now. Hold out for what you truly want, otherwise you will regret it.
