I find that I am attracted to women that are not my race. My folks don't like that. Is it right for me to "look else where"?

Matters of the heart knows no color. Love is unconditional not tied up in color. You have to do what makes you happy because that is what matters most. I understand your situation with your family but your family has raised you, now it's time for you to live your own life.

It isn't right or wrong. There will always be conflict though when you mix cultures. As long as you know the potential for conflict by breaking the culture barriers. This becomes particularly strong when kids come into play because the families generally desire the kids to embrace their traditions, religious values, etc.

So, I would say that it isn't a right or wrong directly (no evil sin by marrying into another culture), but you should be aware for the potential conflicts it will create.

Hello maybe you could talk to them ask them in a respectful way to explain why they have a problem with you dating out side your race? To say we just do is not good enough. I can understand, some people believe that another race does not understand your culture. I think its a fantastic honor to learn other cultures. There is bad and good in all of this beautiful rainbow of people on this earth, that just want to get to know you for who you are. And because you date are become friends does not mean you are going to marry them. Listen to your parent and always respect how they feel but maybe all of you could work something out good luck.

"Wrong"? no, but likely to result in a friction-less union, probably not. Marriages and relationships survive best when the couple have the most in common... same religion, same amount of education, smarts, ideas on child rearing, politics, similar backgrounds, and race. Your choice...your life.

It's absolutely right for you to look at other races and be interested in them.
It's 2007, times have changed. Mixed babies are beautiful and love see's no color anyway.
Sometimes parents are so set in their own ways that they tend to forget how love can over power everything. I think that you can't help who you fall in love with and you should be able to date outside your race as long as that person treats you right and is what you've been wanting in your life.

What other people think about what you like or dislike in a mate, should not influence your decision..

It's how you feel about each other...

That said.. dating outside your race or ethnic background can be a very trying experience, that you may not be up too...

of course not. it's perfectly modern. as long as you find a girl that can deal with disapproving parents, all else will be relatively normal. and the rents SHOULD calm down after they realize it's not the end of the world. happy huntin' :D

YES - to NOT look out side your race would be wrong. Some older people can't see that because its how they were raised and its against tradition.

It's right if that's what you want. Last time I checked, parents didn't arrange marriages in this country.
