Yes, I have ... this was back in the 1960s-1970s (yes, I admit to being at least that old) ... and that was the time where the war protests, the long hair and hippie look was in --
And ... sadly -- here I am ... with my siblings (all short, neatly trimmed hair), my WWII Disabled Veteran Father ... and we went to a gas station to get fuel and some snacks. We could not see the face of the clerk, and from the back, the person's hair looked like it was a long-hair female style --
SO ... going "Miss, Miss, can you ...."
and then they turned around -- wow, were we SURPRISED ... it was a Male with a full beard! Gosh ... our faces were RED with embarassment .. and we certainly did not know what to say!
Just fueled up our vehicles (including our motorcycles), got our sodas, and LEFT as fast as we could!

A lot I'm a customer service rep for several retail stores and have called many men ma'am and many women sir!! Atleast it's over the phone and not in person!!

yes...i was a bagger at this store and there was this guy with long hair standing wearing womens clothes. I only saw the back of his head so i was like "hey mam, paper or plastic". Then he goes "plastic" in a deep voice. So i help him to his car and apologize, and he says "dont worry im a transexual". Weird huh.

Yes and I felt bad it was a person that appeared to be a man had a beard and a cap on was dressed like a man just short, well he came and picked up his perscription and i refered to "him" as mr and when she spoke i realized that the voice was feminine she corrected me, he use to be a he but is on hormones. he couldnt blame me for referring to him as a man how am i suppose to know that he i mean she was on hormones? untill i looked at chk out, but im sure that wasnt his or hers first time you know! got reall snippy with me and wasnt called for so if you are reading this miss i am sorry!

when I was younger I went to daycamp at a elementary school during the summer. One year a person I thought to be a guy was in the girls changeroom and I blurted out "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE?" turns out it was a girl, I was really embarassed.

yes, wen i first met my boyfren he is japnese but his name is Alex ,he had his hair till his neck n in our school girls used to wear trousers too so i thought he was a gurl so wen i went to talk to him i first hugged him(i didn't know he was a boy) n wen he turned back n said who is it*smiling* my face turned so red n his frenzs n my frenzs along with other students n sum teachers were there too n they all were starin at me! i was so red n blushed n after that incident Alex came n he smiled n said that first he was shocked but felt nice*^_^* n i was blushed again that was one of my best memory n i think of it all the tym*^_^*

There was one girl at camp and she totally looked like a dude, and I said, "Dude, what's your name?" And she said Hope. I just kinda went, ohhhkay then and walked away. I felt bad, but maybe she should've tried to grow her hair longer, ya know?
