Sex is pleasurable. And people choose to have sex with those whom give them pleasure, man or woman
People also change preferences during their life. Look at Anne Heche as an example.
Having sex is not genetic, it is not hardwired.

it's just as valid a sexual orientation as heterosexuality. No one ever questions as heterosexual person saying, "how do you know you're straight if you've never been with someone of the same sex"? Yet people do this all the time to bi, gay, and lesbian people. You should also look at the Kinsey reports. It says that most people fall in the 2-5 range (on a scale of 0-6 with 0 being predominantly gay, and 6 being predominantly straight. So, bisexuality isnt that uncommon afterall. Besides, there's more to sexuality or sexual orientation than just engaging in the physical act of sex.
Heterosexual people know their orientation, as do gays and lesbians. Bisexuals know they are attracted to both the male sex and female sex, (or even possible transsexuals, in which I'd probably classify those people as pansexual). There's a lot more identities out there than just hetero, homo, or bi too.
The great thing about sexual identity is that it's personal. An identity is something you create for yourself that no one can take away from you. They can try to discredit you, or label you, but ultimately, it has to come from within.

Yes, I think you can be bisexual, because I am bisexual.
I am not gay, I am not straight, and I am not confused... I like men sexually, and I like women sexually. I've never understood how other people can be just straight, or just gay... I've accepted that fact, but I still do not understand how people cannot be attracted to both sex's.

If you look at the social habits of the bonobo chimpanzee, the closest genetic primate to humans, they are notoriously Bi. They form pair bonds that are gay or lesbian but when the females go into esterous, they turn straight and then revert back to their gay/lesbian relationships afterwards.

People can definetely be Bi as I think that I am. What would you call somebody who has had sex with men and women if not bi.

so, because it hasn't happened to you, you discredit it?
that's a very closed minded attitude. Just because you haven't been around the world, doesn't mean it isn't round.
