it is almost like asking a women why do you change your hairstyle so often?Life would be boring without seasons, at least for me. Every season has different beauty, different sceen, different smell and taste...that what makes me so happy ,to be suprised each and every time discovering something new in a new season, having different memories of shades. Also you can think of seasons like natures life circle ,birth, life, maturity and death..then again a new start..it is amazing to watch...:)

I would say there is nothing 'philosophical' about it. It is a geographic fact that in temperate zones there exists four seasons of weather.

Because the majority of human economics for the greater part of world history was agrarian, and farmers paid strict attention to the changes in weather.

In temperate zones there are physically four observable seasons: Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring, before the cycle repeats itself. These seasons determine the all important planting time and harvest time (and survival time, winter).

So again the four seasons are a fact, a 'truism', which is not all that philosophically worthy of discussion.

They correlate with astronomical events:
Summer solstice
Autumnal equinox
Winter solstice
Vernal equinox
and, in the temperate zones at least, they conform to the idea of a coldest season ( winter), a warmest (summer) and the transitional seasons to get there. In some equatorial countries, the climate is more reasonably divided into rainy and dry seasons.

There are four seasons to all of life:

Spring is birth and renewal.

Summer is our youth and our growth days.

Autumn is our hunkering in, getting ready, harvesting what we have planted in our lives, raking together our successes and failures and planning for the future.

Winter.....is when we sit and look out the window...enjoying all the beauty. Remembering all the good times...spending time with family....and looking forward to the spring in our lives..when we will be renewed in what we see as our after lives.....

According to myth, Persephone descended into Erebus. There she saw a feast and ate 6 pomegranate seeds. Hades then appeared, and told her that because she only ate 6 seeds, and not the whole fruit, she must stay with him in Erebus for six months. Persephones mother, forget her name, weeps and forgets the world for the six months her daughter is in Erebus. But when Persephone is released, her mother brings the joy back to the world.

That's the Greek view anyway

Because it helps us to differentiate climate for people all over the world. Nomads need to know where to go, farmers need to know what to plant when and what, people need to prepare for certain seasons, fisherman need to know when to go out for different species, and etc.
