Oops- you might want to refrain from using your electrical fire place. It sounds like it's pulling too many watts for the outlet, and you need something able to handle heavy duty- such as what you would use for a washing machine, or a stove.

You may be drawing near the limit for that outlet and a poor connection will heat up . Keep a watch on that and turn it off if it gets really hot , also check the breaker is not too high a value for the outlet .

Loose connection in the outlet wiring if it's the outlet. Most likely the cord or plug is underrated for the amp draw of the equipment. Happens all the time when you buy cheap. Made in China too, I'll bet.

You need to call an electrician. You need a new outlet that can handle your fireplace safely. You don't want to have a fire, do you?
