GW was a cheerleader in high school. Trent Lott was a cheerleader. The current governor of Texas was a cheerleader at Texas A&M University. The next Governor of Texas, Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson, was a cheerleader at the University of Texas. What the hell? Is this some kind of popularity contest for the pretty people?

My brother-in-law was a cheerleader in high school and college. His team was so good they went to National Competition.

He also graduated with honors as an Electrical Engineer and is a top engineer for a major national firm. He has had numerous articles published and is an extremely intelligent person.

Are you implying that the fact that he was a cheerleader somehow impacts his intelligence? If so, you are quite mistaken. And if this is the case for him, I can see how it would be the case for the other people you cited.

Which one of those do you think are "pretty"?

I think a coorelation between popular and wealthy might be made, rich kids have it easier arguably then those with less, so being made a cheerleader, a social clique if there ever was one doesn't surprise me, although I pictured GW hanging with the stoner crowd more than legitimate after-school activities, who knew?
