Everything Donna said is correct. If you don't own the rights to the videos or make an agreement with those who do, then it is illegal to upload and share them.

As far as everything NekoMimi said... well it's just 100% absolutely wrong. Just think about what she said for a moment. She said is was ok to distribute content as long as it wasn't licensed in the US. But think about that for a second. US companies have to purchase a license in order to be able to distribute anime legally. If they could legally distribute anime in the US without a license, then they wouldn't spend thousands or millions of dollars on a license! The reason that this is illegal is because of a little something known as the Berne Convention that pretty much insures that copyrights hold even if you are in a different country from the copyright holder.

Usually fansub groups can get away with distributing unlicensed anime because there is no one hurting in the US at the moment to send C&Ds or sue or w/e.

ONLY if what you are streaming is NOT LICENSED FOR DISTRABUTION IN THE US.

Take Bleach as an example...

3 years ago it was 100% (Technically) Legal to distribute it in the US because NO ONE had LICENSED IT for US Distribution.

But then Cartoon Network picked it up and aired it...

At that second it was now ILLEGAL to distribute it in the US.

It is a Grey Area Law because it is an International Copyright Situation...

That is why "Fan Sub" sites can stay in existence.

They are distributing stuff that is NOT LICENSED in the US.

So as long as you have all of their websites bookmarked and remove the content the second that it is licensed then you can get away with it.

Did you create and produce the cartoon shows yourself? Or are they copyrighted by people other than you?

If you did not create them and produce them yourself, then it is illegal to upload them let alone charge people for it.

No only if you have a contract with the creator
