Next up was Governor Tommy Thompson, who always gets the crowd riled up. He gave a terrific speech and then introduced Dick Cheney.
Mr. Cheney immediately won over the hearts of this Green Bay crowd by walking in wearing a Packers warm-up jacket. His style of speaking is very relaxed and confident. He was extremely well received by this crowd of several hundred (the pavillion was as full as it could possibly be, as far as I could tell.)
A couple of things that stand out from his speech. referring to algore’s depictions of himself as “Goldilocks” (too hot in the first debate, too cold in the second, just right in the third) he sai d, “If you were hiring someone, would you want someone who compares himself to Goldilocks?” When he touched on the fact that algore wants to give tax relief only to people who “live a certain way, do things a certain way,” someone in the crowd yelled, “ NOT IN AMERICA.” Cheney laughed & repeated, “Not in America.” When he spoke about the military and the need for a “responsible person” to make decisions concerning the military, someone else yelled “NOT GOLDILOCKS!!!!”. The crowd roared again.
