You can volunteer at an animal shelter (humane society) or a veterinarian's office. You would be playing with the animals or cleaning cages or taking dogs for a walk/go to the bathroom, cleaning litter boxes, etc.
I work with an animal group and feed a group of feral cats (spay/neuter, trap/release) twice a week. I sometimes bring my stepkids with me when they want to go.

A great place to start your first job working with animals would be a local animal shelter. You will have an opportunity to help provide care for a variety of animals. The job isn't easy but if you are a true animal lover you won't mind making sacrifices to help them. It involves cleaning kennels but you also get the chance to introduce the animals to potential adopters and help them find good homes which is very rewarding. In addition you will learn things that can help you in the future with other jobs involving animals. Like the vaccines each animal needs, identifying parasites, and knowing symptoms of different diseases and viruses. If you are interested in working for a vet's office someday this would be a great place to start.

You can help out at a veterinary clinic, but just in the boarding area, I believe. You can also volunteer at the local animal shelter. Most states in the US (if you are in the US) allow you to do volunteer work starting at the age of 14. They won't let you work after 9pm, but that is the only limit I am aware of.

The ages for volunteering at shelters vary. Ours takes kids at 12 in most situations. Although the duties and times are limited.
Check with some local shelters and see what they have to offer.

Well, you could volunteer at an animal shelter, and possibly you could get a job at a pet shop.

I pondered this question many, many times. I was only 12 when I started volunteering!
Go to a local animal shelter, zoo, or assistance place.
Most likely they will let you if you just ask!

It depends on where you live. If you live in a state like Florida, you can start working at 14. Go to PetRescueMiami.com and you might be able to find links to shelters in your area. I do volunteer work there, and it's fun.

as you say at your age right now there is not much. But, you might let people know you are willing to walk there dogs, or help them bath them or help them groom there cats for a start.
Visit your local vet, be honest, explain your intrests and ask if they know where you might start out to help animals, i would advise this also with your local Humane Society, or adopt a pet groups who may need your help.
