You should be able to uninstall IE 7 and it will revert back to IE 6.

From the Microsoft IE 7 Frequently Asked Questions page:

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP

Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."

Click "Add or Remove Programs."

Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.

Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove." (If you are running Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview - March 20 or later, it is not necessary to check "Show Updates.")

Select the appropriate version of Internet Explorer 7 for your operating system.

Assuming Windows XP....

Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs Icon
In the list of installed programs, find IE7 and click on it to highlight it.
A "Remove" button should appear
Remove the program
Reboot and IE6 will automatically reinstall.

Be aware that MS has set it up so that IE7 will automatically reinstall itself on your PC. So if you want to use IE6, you will be having to redo this every 2-3 days to keep 6 on your PC.

Recommend that you go to http:getfirefox.com and download install the current version of Firefox. It is much more stable and has better security then either IE 7 or 6. Try it and you will probably find that you like it better them either version of IE.
