I am having a problem getting a job, and I don't have any sources of income. I am tight on money right now, and trying to get a job is really difficult for me. I have a 2 savings accounts and a checking account, but there's not much money in any of the accounts.

I have friends I would like to buy Christmas presents for, but without a job; I don't have much money. What should I do, if I am having problems getting a job and I want to buy christmas presents for friends? I am not employed right now, and I'm trying to get a job like I said. By the way, I am 18 years old.

Can anyone give me advice?

Send everyone on your Christmas list a letter explaining your financial situation and the fact that you're having difficulty getting a new job. As a result, you've decided to forgo much of the gift-giving this year. I would suggest that, in lieu of buying gifts, you can use your creative skills (if any) to make gifts - a picture you've drawn, illustrated and framed yourself, a calaendar you've made or a CD or music you've downloaded from the internet. Or you can invite everyone on your list to a Christmas party and make all the Christmas goodies yourself, from cookies to tarts to dainties. Good luck.

If you are looking for advice on getting a job then it depends on what you are looking to do. It should be easy to get a job at a retail store right now. Most stores are looking for seasonal help. If you want advice for gifts there are cheap things you can do. My friend that doesn't have a lot of money makes us c.d's. She finds songs from our "youth" or new music we may not have heard. It's fun to hear the collection she puts together.

Please don't feel as though you have to buy them gifts.I'm sure they understand your situation
Why not invite them over for an evening of watching movies and having snacks? You can buy some inexpensive food items and have a great time together.
Buy some frozen pizzas, some popcorn, sodas, chips and dips etc.You could put the dips together yourself and even maybe bake some cookies.
I'm sure your friends would enjoy this every bit as much as getting gifts.Being together and enjoying each others company is what it's all about.
Merry Christmas and God Bless.

I think if your friends/family are good friends/family that they will understand that you need to take care of basic needs... Christmas presents aren't that important. Maybe have a small get together or potluck to celebrate the holiday season w/o having to get everyone gifts... good luck

I would recommend just getting Christmas cards, your friends will know you are short of cash.
It is the thought that counts.
