It shows just how different our cultures are, you would of thought they would be pleased that some of the children in the Sudan school would want to call their teddies after someone they love and respected.
Lets hope the authorities in Sudan see sense and release the teacher who has gone to work in their country to educate their kids (I mean children no offence to goats meant)

How are countries like this ever going to be taken seriously when something like this is made an issue. No wonder the westerners look down at places like this. I repsect every country for their own beliefs and wishes but they will always be inferior to any european country or the USA when they keep themselves in the middle ages. A lot of these countries have the resources to be very sucessful and powerful countries but they have beliefs and laws like this, they are going nowhere fast.

If I had a "Teddy Bear" now I think I'd have to name it "All Religious FundaMENTAList Nut Jobs Must Die"... how's that for a nice name for a child's toy?

BTW: I've seen this on this forum, but no link to an actual story.

Fudge! I also have one called Curlie-Wurlie. I've actually got a lot of teddies, and I can't remember all their names. I think I've got one called Blue - I hope I haven't offended the Smurfs!

If I have offended your tribe Papa Smurf, then I'm sorry. Please don't put me in prison with Gargamel and Azrael!

That is so ridiculous! Why can't she just change the name of the teddy bear? problem solved!
Really what are her charges that they would have to take legal actions?

Can you believe that? They're freakin weirdos. I'm proud to be an American when I hear things like this. Those extremist freaks are the ones who need lashing! (disclaimer: I am speaking only of the extremists, not all Muslims)

mistyblue - I understand your frustration, but I'm saying in comparison to being treated the way women are over there, or the way non-religious people are treated, I am very proud to live in America - I don't agree with what our leaders do, but I am still proud to be in America (at the moment) lol!
