About 1 out of 3 times when my husband and I go out, which happens every 2-3 months if we're lucky. I get so sick from drinking that I am throwing up the next day.

I have 2-3 drinks but I never get a chance to eat before so I drink on an empty stomach. I don't have a chance to eat because I am running around getting everything ready for the babysitter and giving my kids a bath and dinner, etc.

I want to ask for help from an aunt or someone the next day but are too embarassed to say I am vomitting from drinking. Would you feel the same way too?

some of you are just waiting to put people down, aren't you?

I don't think some people are reading the question properly. I get sick 1 out of 3 times every 2-3 months, that means about 1-2 times a year.

I drink Cosmos btw.
We go to dinner with other couples but while we wait for our table we'll have a martini.

Stop trying to make me feel bad. I'm asking if my embarassment is normal or I shouldn't be embarassed to ask fo rhelp.

I can see how you'd be embarrassed because you don't want to give anyone especially your family the impression that you're a drunk. I would suggest that if you never seem to have time to get a bite to eat before you leave. You should ask your husband to stop and get you a little something to put on your stomach while you two are on the way to your destination. Try to eat something that's greasy or eat something with bread. The grease will coat your stomach lining so the alcohol can't just sit in the pit of your stomach and the bread will help soak up the alcohol toxins... My dad was a drinker... I learned from the best.
What he told me to do when I know I've drank too much and I'm sure to be hungover and sick in the morning is: "I take maybe a half spoon of baking soda in a few oz's of water and drink it down really fast (I know, baking soda is nasty):) and then I take me two asprin or Ibuprophen. Do this as soon as you walk in the house from your night out. When you wake up in the morning, you'll feel just fine, no hangover, no nausia/headache.... Nothing! and you'll be able to go about your day as normal.
It really works... Try it next time.

Maybe you should get some food into your stomach!!! I am sorry but if you are having 2-3 drinks on an empty stomach and are kissing the porcelain god the next day i don't feel for you because that is just stupid...You can even order something at the bar if you don't have time to eat before going out!! Good for you!!!

No, not wanting to put anyone down, but sit down take a look at yourself and your habits. If you drink without eating, eat while you drink or have dinner before. If you can't do that then CUT DOWN on the drinking. Its not a right in your life to drink and get drunk, if you can afford it, then good for you. But your health should be more important than whether or not you feel great by getting drunk every 2 or 3 months.

Seriously take a look at what you are doing, try to put yourself in someone else's shoes looking at you...Wouldn't you think you had a problem?

More people probably do get sick after a couple of drinks if they're not used to it and there's nothing wrong with having a couple of drinks. Just eat something before even if it's peanut butter and crackers, a sandwich, anything to keep your stomach from being empty. I always heard to eat some kind of bread because it helps soak up the alcohol.

Do you ENJOY throwing up??? You need to eat something if this is happening...unless you don't mind it. My biggest phobia is vomit so I do everything to avoid it.

Try drinking a glass of water in between every drink. Also, eat AT THE BAR or grab something mild on your way home. Have toast when you get home and take some pain reliever. Also, you can try drinking some Gatorade or Vitamin Water before you go to bed to help replace the electrolytes...there are ALOT of things you can do to prevent this...

I can see the embarassment from asking for help because you got too drunk and are now throwing up, but if your family is cool with everything then you should be able to ask. It is nice to hear that you and your husband go out and have fun on your own sometimes too. Always try to eat though before you go out drinking. And always try to keep your limit in mind. Have enough to loosen you up and have a good time, but try not to go overboard.

Definately EAT before you drink!!! That is probably why you feel so sick the next day. If I go out and skip dinner, I always feel icky the next day. Just try to remember to eat a little something, and then you should be ok. You need something in your tummy to absorb the alcohol.

If you can't find the time to eat dinner before drinking, then you need to quit drinking. If that's not an option, figure what you can drink without getting sick. I don't drink beer for that very reason.

And by the way, vomiting the next day is childish, embarassing and not a good example for you children.

What kind of drinks are you have that 2 or 3 does this to you? Drink something weaker, won't have this problem. Or only have 1-2 if it is that bad. And why can't you grab a bite while you give the kids dinner? You are making up excuses for this. And no, when I get that drunk, I take care of myself because I am the one who chose to drink to that point and shouldn't burden others because of my stupidity.

O wow-I'd have to say that I only throw up after 15+ drinks and that's b/c I mixed it with shooters, beer and mixed drinks(what can I say, high tolerance). If you're puking from that little amount I'd almost have to say that you have a bigtime intolerance to alchohal ( I wish I did, it would curb me sooner lol). I'd actually get that checked out via the doc b/c that doesn't seem right to me. And as far as help goes from relatives, I'd say that you don't feel well and could be food poisioning etc b/c to me, something doesn't seem right with it.

Good luck.
