HI all..hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! I am currently taking clomid..and this will be my third cycle of it. I am taking 100mg....that is the amount that made me ovulate...50mg did not (first go around I had no ovulation). I guess i figured that last month I would get pregnant since I ovulated on day 15 (never happened in my life, it is usually on day 23!) and my husband and I timed it all right with intercourse. I am really dissappointed to wake up and get my period today. My obgyn called in my third round of clomid and they told me they would have me on it for 6 months then refer me out to a specialist (fertility doctor). I guess I am worried something might be wrong...i have had blood work done..hormone levels..my tubes checked...my husband's semen checked and everything was normal...so why can't we get pregnant???? I am 35 and I know it takes longer. How long does it take to get pregnant when on clomid? Could I be having an implantation issue?

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I am 25. In July I took 50 mg and didn't ovulate and the next month took 50 mg and ovulated day 20 and the third cycle I took 100mg and ovulated day 19. Sadly though I didn't conceive. The stress and disappointment got to be too much so hubby and I are taking a break from the Clomid and doctors for now. We thought Clomid would be our miracle but it doesn't always work like that. Our doctor wanted us to try 3 more cycles before taking a break but we didn't want to. We may start the Clomid again at the first of the year. Best wishes and as my doctor told me you only have about a 25% chance of conceiving with well timed intercourse so it may take a while.

Well for starters you need to relax and not stress because that can take a serious toll on your body. You do need to buy either a fertility monitor or ovalution kit to predict your exact date of ovalutation. Pregnancy takes a while to happen it will come when you least expect it. In the meantime, eat right, exercise, and take your prenatal vitamins. I actually hear the clomid has a very high success rate, so I would stay on it for at least 6 months.

Sending baby dust your way.

hey i seriously think that you are ok. i have irregular cycle too, i was on clomid 50mg, did not work well for me, increased to 100mg worked very well and i was pregnant which ended up into a blighted ovum! after 3 months of break im trying again with 100mg of clomid!
what i'd learnt was that with clomid the cervical mucous dries up, i guess thats the side effect of clomid, you have to boost your cervical mucous, try robitussin syrup from day 11-20 and also start evening primerose tablets from day 5 until day 11, you have to stop during your ovulation! also start your prenatal vitamins!!
i guess its the timings, we need to try from day 11 onwards, we aren't sure when we would ovulate! we will be baby dancing from day 11 onwards until day 20! without clomid last month i guess i ovulated on day 26! you can imagine the irregularity here!! so lets try and try and be positive and relaxed!!! GOD bless

Implantation could potentially be a problem, but probably nothing is wrong. Since you are ovulating on the clomid then you have about a 20% chance each cycle. If you are concerned about implantation then you need to see how long your luteal phase was last cycle. Your luteal phase--LP--is the number of days from ovulation til your period comes and it should be about 12 days or more.

I am not sure if you are also using fertility monitor to check if you really have an egg. There are lots of time that a women think that she is ovulating but in reality they are not. If you do not have the fertility monitor please buy one. Fertility monitor cost range from $200-250. Use the ClearBlue Fertility Monitor if you don't have one yet. I hope you don't need to have a surgery to remove any polycystic fibrosis or endometriosis.
