in the short time period that all fetuses are female, the nipples are already formed before the 'magic' happens that turns one fetus into a male and another into a female....

When you think about putting babies together from scratch, starting with a fertilized egg, it's a lot easier if the two different models (M and F) share as much of the same basic plan as possible. Women need nipples for nursing. It would take a lot of extra genes and developmental mechanism to make them go away in men - and they're not hurting anything. (Men and women are so much alike that, with hormone treatments, some men can lactate. Hormones turn the feature on or off.)
The only genetic difference between men and women is on the Y chromosome, and it has very few genes. There's not a lot of room there to spell out big, complicated differences between men and women. They have to be relatively small differences, and have to be the ones that are truly necessary for reproduction.
As far as practical use, some guys get enjoyable feelings when they're played with. Anything that makes sex more fun increases the chance of reproduction - maybe not what the individual always wants, but necessary at the species level.

becoz for a short time within the uterus, a baby is neither male nor female, so the foetus develops nipples. I think there is a similar theory regarding the clitoris.
Either that or it's because women are the superior species lol.

Because there are no distinctions whatsoever between a male and a female human fetus.
So, nipples evolve in women...and what we have is called a remnant, it's useless but it's present.
The same for the appendix... but that's something else, haha

I believe it's something to do with the fact that when we were wee embryos,we were all female!! When the wee egg decided tae become a certain sex, the wee nipple things were left intact. I love male nipples, they urr smashing tae get yer teeth intae!!!!

So if the mother of the baby dies the male (father) can take over the breast feeding. Thats what Osama had to do. It hurt like hell thought, but my young Mahomid is very healthy and manly.
