Nobody knows your taste more than yourself. Most likely, it's the seasoning you've put in your meat. On the other hand, diners uses a special stove to cook their meat. The meat end up tasting oily and burnt.

If you ever plan to eat again, don't read this.
Once, one of my classmates did a book report (I forgot the book). The book contained a whole lot of facts about fast food, and just why that hamburger doesn't taste right. First, how many cows contribute a body part to ONE McDonald's hamburger? Answer: 1,000. The McDonald's staff chop it up and it goes through manufacturing and processing and loads of chemicals are added.........
Anyway, it may be what you drink. What do you drink for a BBQ at your house? Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer, Sprite, Ginger Ale, or Bottled Water. (Not including alcoholic beverages.) In McDonalds, the ice (believe it or not) is dirtier than toilet water. A high schooler turned out tops in her Science project by proving that.
Or it may just be good old-fashioned cooking, not shredded, gross, chemical-filled fast food. Another reason not to eat at McDonalds for your birthday.

Most burgers from diners are frozen beforehand, so that they can store more for longer periods of time. Since you most likely by fresher meat, your food will taste better.

Don't cut yourself short- Your BBQ'd burgers are made the way you like them, and are NOT grilled. The meat is fresh, and you know how to spice it up!
HAPPY EATING! :-)

Likely because you cook your burger over a flame and they cook theirs on a slab of heated metal.
