my laptop is saying its running from the battery.. and that the battery is low.. i have it plugged into the wall and its set to use the power but its still using the battery.. i got this laptop from my aunt. so i don't know all that much about laptops... any help would be great! =D thanks

Something is not right with the power supply. Based on your description of the problem, most likely fault points are power cords, AC adapter, and the connector that hooks the AC adapter to the laptop. Find someone who has the same or similar laptop (so they have the same AC adapter you do), borrow their AC adapter, and try powering your laptop with their AC adapter. If this solves your problem, you will need to get a new AC adapter (you will probably have to call the manufacturer to order a new one). If it doesn't, the problem is somewhere inside your laptop (most likely, in the connector), so you should take it to a shop to get fixed.

I had that happen to me for quite awhile, then it just stopped happening anymore. I don't know why it stopped happening or what was wrong. Maybe it was because I got a new cord (mine was pretty much trashed.) But I don't know what that would do with the battery. Just telling you you're not the only one, and good luck.

You just need to replace the battery. If its not holding a charge theirs nothing you can do but replace it.
