People are complex and think they are more interesting then they really are.

Because when you want an answer to something, the more details you give, the better advice you can receive since people have all the information they need.
But I agree with you. I never read or answer a question that is too long.

Some people are here for the attention. Generally those who are very attention seeking say a lot when they ask a question or when they are expressing something.
