nuva ring quarterly, so no period?

so im on the nuva ring and my doc said that i can keep it in like all time. so every 4 weeks i just swap it out for anew one. is this still effective? becuase me and my bf have been having unprocted sex and ive been spotting. is the nuva ring still effective that 4th week ?
and is the spotting normal 4 b4 i have to change it cuase thats what usually happens. and i dont get my period and using the nuva ring like this im not supposed to get it.

Yes the ring is still active during the fourth week. If it were not active, you would get your period during the fourth week. Most women use the ring for three weeks and then go one week without it.
