Bryan It seems like we have already tried that for several years now. Corporate interests are too hard to defeat because they have infiltrated the whole political system. The system itself is what needs to be overthrown and voting doesn't help. The election process is too rigged that even in the event of a close race the elite still decide not the people.

We've already been down that road.

When the government starts calling regular Americans who don't agree with them terrorists and start rounding them up. (By the way this is already starting to happen google HR1955 already passed through the house)

Also when a peaceful revolution is not allowed by the government. Ron Paul says something about this.

Because that is what one is left with when all reasonable avenues fail. Governments become oppressive and must either be brought into check or deposed. A good example of our Congress denying the will of the majority would be the illegal immigration issue. The people have spoken out loudly about their displeasure over the law not being enforced in this area. What is the answer from Congress? A call for stringent enforcement? No! They make several attempts to ram another amnesty down our throats and when it becomes obvious that pursuing this course of action will be disastrous for them they shelve it. Now you can say they heard the people, but the reality is that they will wait until after the next election and then try to quietly push through what they want. This is just one of any number of issues of this nature, but there are plenty of others. Revolution does not have to be bloody though. I say by all means revolt, but do it at the ballot box. Throw the bums out and if the next crop is as bad as this one throw them out too. In the end we get the government we vote for.

Revolution is never an 'answer' it is a means to enact policy at your will or the will of your peers against the wishes of the ruling aristocracy and by force if necessary. For example: in our early days in America we were taxed by our colonial English rulers, and yet we saw no representation. So we had the American revolution and created our own country, and we tried to fix the problems with the previous system. When the French citizenry got fed up with their constitution, they had a revolution and made a new one. It's one way to achieve what you want. Sometimes it's not always the best because most revolutions are chaotic on some level.

When apathy and ignorance have undermined public policy to appease corporate or nonrepresentational interests.

Some become that which they seek to destroy -- even the WWII Nazi started as a people's movement before they were fascists.
