Maybe you need to change your screen resolution settings. when you boot up ur computer click esc, or F3 which will take you to your CMOS settings, you can change the settings in there. Try that and see what happens.

Sounds like something is preventing the PC from going all the way into Windows. The "beep" may indicate a hardware issue.

Try booting the PC in Safe Mode. Turn it on and begin to repeatedly press the F8 key until you get a screen with the Safe Mode option.

Once in Safe Mode, you should then be able to spot what the actual error is and correct it.

How old is your PC?

Do a google or yahoo search on 'beep codes' to see what the single beep is.

You might have a failing CMOS battery that saves all BIOS settings for booting up.

Replacing a CMOS battery is simple. But make sure you are grounded before attempting it.
