this friend is supposed to be a healthy woman running a yoga center and what not

It's a matter of trust. You gotta weight the woman's privacy and your relationship with her vs. how strong your relationship with your mom......... your mom should win, this is just a friend and talking to your mom wins out.

Some people might answer here that its none of your and your mom's business, but whatever, that's what life is... talking with your mom about things in life, its none of HER business what you're telling your mom.

What I'm thinking is that you're having an issue with the fact that you think this friend is a hypocrite...pushing the whole yoga, healthy lifestyle thing and then smoking? I doubt that's the case here and if you saw this friend smoking it seems unlikely that she is trying awfully hard to hide it.
I think it's okay to mention it to your Mom if you'd like. I don't see the harm if it makes you feel better.

Well mostly it is none of your business but if it really bothers you why don't you say something to this "friend" like "you're suppose to be a role model for a healthy woman, why would you ruin that by smoking?"

Depends if the woman is selling herself as some sort of health nut example. If smoking doesn't come into play in what she's pushing on others, then it doesn't really matter.

Besides, smoking makes you STINK, your mom probably notices.

Well, if she is an adult woman you wouldn't really be telling on her, it would be more like gossip. So, even if you tell your mom it's not like her friend is going to get in trouble or anything, it's up to you if you want to say anything or not .

The only way I would say definately tell is if it was a kid.

Naw that aint nothing to tell on, that's her business if she wants to smoke and pretend to be a healthy woman.

Leave it alone. If your friend finds his mother smoking again disturbing, then he'll say something to you about it.

What your mother's friends do is really none of your business. And it's not your mothers business either. What this woman does is her business, and hers alone. It's not your job to snitch on her. Your mother may know, anyway.

Why bother....if you saw her smoking she isn't hiding it. It is her business anyway, and maybe your mom already knows. She is an adult and can smoke if she wants to.

Ummmm, NO!!!!!! Why would you "tattle" on an adult?? This is a free country and she is free to do whatever she wants regardless of what type of center she runs!
