Thanksgiving is a day to spend time with your family and eat a big delicious meal. Basically, one of the family members decides to make a big dinner and the entire family comes over and everyone usually brings a dish with them. Then you spend time eating, drinking and talking with everyone. It's a day to be thankful for everything you have.

For Thanksgiving me and my boyfriend always have two dinners. First we go to his parent's house then to my family's house. We eat a lot of spend time with everyone on both sides of our families.

Hi,

Thanksgiving marks the beginning of our holiday season ending with New Years in the United States. It is a time for family and friends to get together and enjoy each others company and food. Turkey is the traditional meat cooked that day along with many other tasty foods.

The American films you refer to for the most part portray Thanksgiving the way I have always lived it.

Come visit the U.S. next Thanksgiving and I'll be happy to have you over to dinner :)

its family reunion. whether u have a loving family or a bickering family, thanksgiving is the time to do it (love or bicker).

its about food and getting together. ppl overeat then everyone gets crazy shopping the next day as early as 4am! some fanatics even get in line at the store at 9am on thanksgiving day but all stores are closed so ppl just stay outside. its very cold here (i live in california) yet there are ppl who do this to get great deals. i've never been to this shopping (its called black friday) but i watch the news and there are ppl who get into fights. the sale ends after 2 or 4 hours depending on the store.

Defiantely "familyish" but it's either nice or not depending on your family...personally, I love thanksgiving...spend time with my family and my sig. other's family as well...nothing beats friends, family, good food and american football!

Thanksgiving...
Basically a day for Americans to engorge on food.
And clean out their fridges apparently.
Oh, and to some, a time to be thankful for things.

And then go crazy with full stomachs on Black Friday. (( Black Friday = our Christmas shopping start usually. There's like early bird deals and stuff. ))

Its a fictious holiday that was established on the premise that the native americans actually where hapy we came to take their land. Why it seems so happy of a time I have no idea

ha! don't believe everything you see on TV! mostly it IS supposed to be all love and family-but more than anything it's petty bickering and stress along with the usual american overeating thrown in along the way.only good part...football..AMERICAN football.
