In many countries of the world, the celebration of Christmas on December 25th is a high point of the year.
In the UK for many it is only time the whole family sit down for a meal - Christmas dinner.
It is traditional in England for Primary schools to put on a Nativity play, school kids would miss out if it was 4 years

I dont see why would that make it up to date. and what does the world cup have to do with Christmas, why not make it 4 times a year like the seasons.

Well its an interesting idea, but perhaps you could end up with three years of adverts, shops selling Christmas goods and jingle bells instead of the 3 months or so we have now.......

Should be abolished as it has only financial meanings now and had no meaning before that. Just another reason to drink and run people over.
