Wings,
You misunderstand. :) I am getting us on the same page here. Assuming, for the sake of argument, that the Iraquis hate us, why then is their government offering a deal for us to stay? It's not logical... unless you're a lib.

The Iraqi's don't hate us, have you been listening to the far left wing nuts again? How can they hate us when we have done so much for them:
In today’s Iraq..2007 we have provided;

Over 4.5 million people have clean drinking water and electricity for the first time ever in Iraq. Over 400,000 kids have up to date immunizations. Over 1500 schools have been renovated and ridded of the weapons that were stored there so education can occur. The port of Uhm Qasar was renovated so grain can be off loaded from ships faster. School attendance is up 80% from levels before the war. The country had it's first 2 billion barrel export of oil last August, considering that Iran Imports most of theirs, this is great. The country now receives 2 times the electrical power it did before the war. 100% of the hospitals are open and fully staffed compared to 35% before the war. Elections are taking place in every major city and city councils are in place. Sewer and water lines are installed in every major city. Over 60,000 police are patrolling the streets. Over 100,000 Iraqi civil defense police are securing the country. Over 80,000 Iraqi soldiers are patrolling the streets side by side with US soldiers. Over 400,000 people have telephones for the first time ever. Students are taught field sanitation and hand washing techniques to prevent the spread of germs. Girls are allowed to attend school for the first time ever in Iraq. Text books that don't mention Saddam are in the schools for the first time in 30 years. There is a newly elected government
There are only two provinces in the entire country that have major insurgent problems, Baghdad and Al-Anbar, the rest secured.

WE HAVE NO BUSINESS IN IRAQ. WE HAVE CREATED A MESS...A SELF FULFILLING PROPHECY.

We have put a government in power which happens to not be able to survive unless we are there to protect them. How long do you think the Maliki government would stay in power if the USA disappered from Iraq?

People who think like you fail to see the large picture. The bottomline is our presence over there will be recruiting material for terrorists and help them raise funds and inspire more hatred for americans and put us in greater danger. You can always rationalize bad things. Now your rationale is since they are offering us a deal, they could not possibly hate us. Sure they can....have you heard of people smiling in your face and stabbing you in the back? Is it possible they could pretend to be our friends while also cooperating with Iran? Is it possible that Iran is telling them what to do...to keep us over there to drain us financially? Who will pay for this so called "stay" deal? the american people? why should our tax money be used to keep people in power in Iraq who would not be in power without our interference?

Is it the iraqi people who are offering us this deal or the government we have installed there as our puppet? I hear that 80% of iraqi "people" want us out.

There may be truth in that Iraqi people hate the US...Cos they are the ones killed and maimed due to the invasion.

but the Iraqi government are puppets and do the bidding of America.

The US wants to stay to take advantage of the great business opportunities that Iraq offers. Oil, Arms, Reconstruction...etc....Haliburton, Black?whatever or Exxon do not want to leave..

So the Iraqi government conveniently invite them to stay..

It's a sham.

Iraqi government is a puppet group of corrupted people selected by Bush. Iraqi people are well aware of that. With out US support, they won't last a week.

Because they are not in a position to hold onto power and maintain even a semblance of stability if we leave. It is simple self-preservation.
