Well, what type of security is enabled? WPA/WEP etc. Some wireless cards need updated drivers to work with WPA. You may also need to update the operating system. So before we can be of much help we need a little more information.

Have you checked the router to be sure you have the correct key? Does it connect if you turn off the security? Have you RESET/REBOOTED the router? I have a linksys that unless I reboot it every week it stops issuing IP addresses to wireless clients - no idea why just does!

What you are seeing is a failure of the Router to issue an IP address. That can be security key mismatch, or the router, or the card, or the card drivers, or the router firmware.

I would start by seeing if you can connect without a secure key, (turn off security at the router) then add back in the security and see what happens if WPA doesn't work see if WEP will. If WEP works and WPA doesn't you need to update the card drivers! If you can't connect without security you won't connect with it at all.

Let us know what happens.

I found this a couple of days ago while trying to solve an issue for a client.. IF YOU RUN VISTA It may not accept a DHCP address from your router!!!!
