im not too terribly young, im a teenager, i just didn't know what a hickie was! i thought it was when someone sucks on your skin, but i wasn't sure......

A passion mark is another name for a "hickey" (medical term is ecchymosis) A hickey is a bruise that forms when a person sucks and lightly bites an area on another person's body causing the blood vessels under the skin to break. Hickeys vary in size and color depending on the length of time and how strongly the skin is sucked. They can happen anywhere on the body, but the skin on the neck is often where they happen.
Some people enjoy getting and giving hickeys, and some people find them to be painful.
There is no quick way to get rid of a hickey. Like any other bruise on your body, it will go away with time. However, there are ways to cover up the hickey if you don't want anyone else to see it. Some people cover up a hickey with makeup or by wearing a turtleneck or scarf. Other people are proud of their hickeys and don't want to cover them up at all

When someone sucks on your skin (usually accompanied with kisses) and brings the blood to the surface. It sounds gross, but I suppose it isn't that terrible. Though, they do look awful. Some people like to sport them. I will, of course, because there's nothing I can do about it until they disappear after a few days, but it's generally not a cool thing to let the world see (like middle school folk will have you believe). Having them, okay. Showing them, not so much. I mean, are bruises really that cool to show everyone? =)

It's when someone sucks and bites on your neck and it leaves a bruise like spot. Somewhat embarrassing if you work at a job where people can see it.

a hickie is a bruse! if a man gives you a hickie, he's brusing you! if you got raped and the rapest gave you a hickie, you can take it to court! do it fast before it goes away!
