I need some help. I dont know how they came up with these numbers.
This site is very similar to my problem.

Just the top portion with the graph, and the solution under it.
How did they come up with these numbers in the solution
x = .8, 3.4, 4.4, and 6.2.
Can someone look at this and explain to me how they come up with their answers.

The values are not calculated but just estimated from the graph.

First they found four points in the graph where the tangent line is parallel to the secant line (blue line).

Then they (down on the x axis) just found the rough estimation for the four x values corresponding to these points.

Those numbers are approximations.

The guy drew a line from the beginning of the curve to the end of it and tried to find all the places where the slope was pretty much equal to the one of the line he drew.

Imagine a car driving on a road like that and think about the position it would have.
When it's the same thing as if the car was driving on the line the guy made, you are at the right spot.
