If he is your true friend he will help you with the sitiuation. If he doesn't then he wasn't a true friend.

Obviously you are looking for help with this or you would not be thinking of telling him. I'm sorry your best friend ended up making things worse, but you still need some support. If you're not willing to call a help line or see a doctor then you need to tell your friend.

I understand it can be difficult to confide in someone, but you have to if you're going to get through this. If you're concerned about his reaction, first explain that you have a problem that you've struggled with but you just can't do it alone. Let him know this is a serious issue for you so he understands you're not joking around. I've known a few women that were bulimic and they all managed to get past it. I know you can too. Good luck.

In my opinion, you should tell him. If you are seeking or are in recovery, this is not something that should make or break a deal. It was your past and is not something that defines you. I would gather some stats about the genetic aspects of eating disorders and present it like that. I would focus on how you have overcome this hurdle and it has taught you a lot of life lessons. However, the cavet is that you need to be in recovery to address it in this way. And if you are actively engaging in your eating disorder, it sounds like what you need, more than anything, is a counselor and some treatment. I would have to say that I would not blame him from shying away if you are participating in bulimic behaviors. But either way, you should come clean because this is something that you are dealing with and if he does not like it, it is better to come out with it now than find out down the line that he is creeped out by it. You can not predict his reaction. Those comments might have been made out of ignorance...something he will be more aware of in the future if you tell him your struggles. This is not something that just 'goes away' so I would focus on getting a handle on it and then being straight forward about it...regardless of other people.

tell himm, you obviously need some help, hes your friend let him be a friend and help you, its suprising how differently guys and girls can see things he might be able to help in the way your best friend isnt able to,

ps, just cuase he makes fun of it doesnt mean he cant help, we all make fun of alotta of different things but the truth is we can have different views of the things if it happens to a family or friend

Talk to a therapist. They are confidential and they wont tell anyone, and they dont know you so they wont judge you. Good luck!
