The money you would spend on a Wii could easily feed a family of 4 in Africa for 6 months. This is truly a wasteful country, one that spends it's wealth on foolish things instead of helping others in need. If you're not part of the solution, you are the problem.

Personally, I won't spend money on a Wii, but I do spend money to send my kids to private school. That may mean I live check to check, but I know they are getting a good education and encouraged to work community service with organizations that work with the homeless, AIDS, food banks, raising money for organizations, etc. I feel better knowing that my children are very aware of those less fortunate than themselves and want to make a difference in the world. That isn't the case in my local public school district.

Because I earned my own money by making sure I stayed in school, postponed children until after marriage, and developed good spending and saving habits. Besides, until these countries get rid of their corrupt governments, no amount of funding will help those who truly need it.

BTW, I don't even have a Wii, I think it's foolish to spend that amount on a game.

HA!! I dont HAVE a Wii!!

I donated a gift basket for the raffle below ... that's all I could afford ..

The local Boston music scene comes together on 12/1 @
Harper''s Ferry in Allston, MA to raise funds for an
orphanage in South Africa that cares for children who
have lost their parents to AIDS. Most of these
children are HIV-positive themselves. They need food,
educational materials, and medicine.

12/1 is World AIDS Day. Bands will play, and there
will be fundraising raffles. How can you help?

1. Help us promote. Add on your myspace and point
others in our direction. Forward/repost our press
releases.

2. We need donations for raffles. Gift certificates
are great. Do you own a business that or are you
affilated with one who is up to donating such prizes?
We would appreciate it.

3. Sorry, the bands have already been picked. If you'd
like 2 be involved w/ future events, please contact
me.

I only spent $250 on a Wii, and it was for my daughter's Christmas present. I also plan to participate in the Angel Tree program and give Christmas to less fortunate kids. I understand your point about feeding the hungry in Africa, but I also firmly believe that there are people in the US, right under our noses, that are in need as well.

I wouldn't spend anything on a Wii, but enough of our tax dollars are illegally and unconstitutionally funneled into foreign countries without my consent, so I AM doing my part whether I want to or not.

Easily stated firmly ensconced within you castle.

Has it ever occurred to you that by promoting commerce, you're helping people earn livings thereby allowing themselves to get out of poverty.

You are not really Bono. If you were, you would be playing with your Wii and not asking stupid questions on Yahoo Answers.
