It can in a very narrow field. Also depends on which language and how well you speak the language of the people you are seeking employment from.

Yes, in theory, however:

(1) It counts on the language. Russian is a wonderful language to have under your belt, but if there isn't a great need for the second language you have in your area, it might mean absolutely nothing.

(2) It has to be more than a piece of paper. This is speaking as someone with a degree in Spanish, and my spoken Spanish is terrible. I don't even advertise my degree, because the assumption is degree=high proficiency. That might end up screwing you.

(3) It counts on the field. Just because you have a foreign language degree won't command a higher salary. If your field is, say, information technology, having a degree in language might mean nothing, or everything.

The bottom line is this: (a) it's much better to have a degree (in anything) than no degree at all, and (b) a foreign language degree NEVER hurts. How much it will help, however, is up to you.

Good luck.

Yes. There are a lot of jobs where the only requirement is a college degree.

You can enhance your earning potential by taking a few more practical classes along with your language classes. I'd suggest taking a few business classes and international relations classes. Your other alternative is to take some Education classes so you could teach.

Overall, YES! only if you get the right job though. Look for jobs that want people who are bilingual or something with foreign languages like ambassadors.
