Its not a disease! Yes, after a woman has sex, the bacteria can creep up into her urethra and into her bladder causing an infection. The best thing for her to do is to pee after sex and clean up in the bath tub. Peeing pushes all the bacteria out and cleaning up does just that-cleans everything up. If she waits to pee (More than 30 min) that would give the bacteria enough time to reach the bladder. Also, if she gets them a lot, it could be caused by wearing a thong. Bacteria from her bottom could be going to her urethra too and thongs are just a transfer agent. Also, when she wipes, she should wipe from front to back or she should just blot.

In a woman, yes. Bacteria can be introduced into the urethra during sex. It's always a good idea for a women to empty her urinary bladder after sex in order to flush out any bacteria and prevent this bacteria from reaching her bladder.

Yes. Bacteria live everywhere. Your partner might have a strain that your body hasn't encountered yet and therefore you now have an infection. Go to the doctor.

yes! the thing is tho, men can only be affected be specific cases. if you slep with a woman who has one you will have the infection but wont feel it... once she gets rid of it if you sleep with her again she will get it back, they are very painful u dont want that to happen! and if she has a case in which its susepitble by men then you need hospital care immediately!...when men get UTIs they have a VERY high chance of dieing within 48 hours! i have had many UTIs and believe me, dont mess around with them they suck!

Yes. Not only from infection (for both the man or woman) but from irritation (for the woman) (eg, from too long and robust a session of intercourse)
