I don't really realize how much of a big responsibility it is, I don't know what to expect, and the troubles I may encounter.

Actually, I have a feeling that it's a piece of cake! People around me get divorced though, can you tell me why? is it always about cheating or financial problems?

Be on the same page about money. Agree on who is going to make it and how much, how much the two of you are going to spend and save, and agree to a budget and DON'T be dishonest about the way that it is being spent!

Children: Do not have children unless you have built a strong foundation for that marriage. Children will make a good marriage terrific, and they can make a shakey marriage crumble to the ground.

COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE, COMMUNICATE!!!!!!

Always be your authentic selves, and always always nurture the other person. Be gentle with each other and know that there are some things that you can never take back, so think before you speak. Argue without name-calling if possible, and always make up before laying your head to rest for the night. Give each other enough freedom to grow, but don't stray too far from your couplehood. If you really love the crust of the person that you are about to marry (all the negative things as well as the positive) and love UNCONDITIONALLY, and neither of you tries to be boss but instead you're a TEAM, you are going to do just great! I wish you luck!

Financial issues are the number one cause of strife in a marriage. It is not a piece of cake. You have to work at it, when you don't put some effort into a marriage that is what leads to affairs. I strongly recomd these sights, and this book. If I knew this stuff when I got married 10 years ago( yes, still married to same person) it would have made it a little easier.

The success of any marriage can only be seen when it's ending. If it lasted long enough or ended too soon. A lot of marriages end for various reasons. A lot of marriages stay long for various reasons as well. I suggest you find a couple that's been married for more than 2 decades and find another couple who's having a divorce. Then maybe you can decide if you want to take the risk or not.

Marriage is a contract....you get out of it what you put into it. The fact that you are focsuing on the possible "troubles" concerns me, tho. Be realistic , but be positive. "A piece of cake" ? hardly.....It is deserviong of more respect than that. It can be the most wonderful and enriching choice you make for your life...a life partner.

Divorce is about the people involved...there are as many reasons for divorce, as there are divorces!

It sucks, marriage is no piece of cake. Facts of life:

1. There is no Santa
2. All men cheat
3. Marriage sucks
4. Everyone lies (you even lie to yourself)
