So a teacher of 6 year old children is facing up to 6 months in prison or 40 lashes , all for letting one of them call a teddy Mohamed !!!
If that is the case and she recieves either punishment LETS GO TO WAR .
I for one am sick of all the arguing about god this god that and god the bloody other . Every person has the right to believe in any god they want to . Nobody has the right to enforce religeous beliefs onto other people .
Anybody else sick of religeon ?

You're right. It is ridiculous. Other religions want christmas cancelled in this country (i.e. all these masses of immigrants) because it goes against their religious beliefs.... ITS OUR COUNTRY.

I may have a biased view being an athiest and thinking the whole thing is ridiculous anyway... but surely people must realise that the number one thing causing war, murders and global issues is religion...

Edit: If other religions question our beliefs we have to change for them. If we question other religions beliefs we get suicide bombed.

I sympathise with your frustration. People should learn to respect each others religion and beliefs. Certain faiths seem less able to 'tolerate' any level of criticism or inquiry, which high lights their vulnerability and insecurity more than their unity and strengths. I've heard on the radio that it was the 6 yr old pupils (not the teacher) that came up with the suggestion. Will they receive the same punishment??

Yes I am to.

Yet we are being pushed into other people's beliefs because the ones that are doing live in fear and are afraid to speak out.

Yes no one has the right to enforce the religious beliefs but they are doing it day by day week by week month by month and year by year.

There will be a revoke in the UK soon if the government does not listen to everyone and stop playing the moral card for when people have a different belief.

I'm a believer and a Christian, and you're absolutely right. No one has the right to impose beliefs on anyone, mainly because faith cannot be imposed, it has to come from within each one of us. I personally trust more a sincere atheist than a hypocrite believer. That's exactly what I think about those who go to the extremes on their religious beliefs, they are just plain religious hypocrites, nothing else!

it would be better if well intentioned people like this young lady were warned of the dangers of teaching in this part of the world

some people enjoy being affronted and go out of their way to be offended.....

hopefully this will serve to warn other teachers of the sort of risk they put themselves at by trying to help the children of this backward nation

it is sad that children will be the ultimate losers but why risk yourself?

IF this is true, its pathetic, but there are plenty of other abuses of women (and men) by religious zealots all over the globe - this is just one more example... IF it is true.
