what a load of rubbish. how much worse can it get. i mean i though not calling a blackboard blackboard was bad but its getting out of hamd now. religion has a lot to answer for. nice looking bear tho, and they could have called it jesus, what would they have done then.

I believe it is most important to understand not merely facts about a religion but also people who follow that religion, that brings into consideration not only practices of the people but also their strong attachments and feelings towards their religion. For without understanding a religion through its followers any understanding would be dangerously incomplete. We Muslims believe in their religion especially differently as our respect and reverence to the prophet Mohammed amounts up to everything in our belief. It is the love of the prophet that is central to our faith above and beyond anything else. Therefore, anything or any act that is not in accordance with this relation that is most sacred to us would be an act against our faith.

There however is no need to go crazy about instances like this if unfortunately the happen, as true love is always tied to deep respect. It can be argued with patient and restraint making sure that the over all image of Islam is not affected; efforts can be made to ensure understanding where there is lack of understanding. It can be, argued for instance, what would someone feel if someone they truly love and deeply respect is mentioned with disrespect, or mentioned trivially?

i think its absolutely disgusting! and so pathetic! calling a teddy mohammed is now offensive is it? mohammed may be a special name in the muslim religion, but alot of people are called mohammed! jeez, what is this sad little world coming to. i really cannot get my head around it. being arrested for that? the teacher surely has good intentions, not to cause offence to any religion. but its completely ridiculous, and i hope she gets released soon with no charge!

I think it is absolutely ridiculous. She is not being disrespectful, it is sad that some people are so intolerant. What about all those men called Mohammed? Not all of them are fine upstanding citizens I bet..........so should parents of a son called Mohammed, who goes on to commit a crime or a sin - should they be punished too for giving him the name - ridiculous!

It seems that some people take their religious views a little too seriously.
There was an instance a few weeks ago of a woman who was a jehovahs witness dying because her religion prevented her from accepting a blood transfusion.

Perhaps calling a Teddy bear Mohammed, wasn't the best of ideas, but it wasn't an arrestable matter i would have thought.

It is an absolute disgrace, she never even named the bear she allowed the class of children to name it!

Hope the British Embassy step in to help her out, absolutely out of control and barbaric. The woman goes over there to try and help their schools out and this is what happens to her, I would discourage anyone from going and trying to help, let them stew in what they make for themselves.

Also this has nothing to do with terrorism and 9/11 for those above who have mentioned it, it is in relation to barbaric Islamic law, same as the girl who was gang raped in SA and then sent to jail for it
