It does matter if the "facts" are "factual" because it goes a long way for people to know that Jesus was an actual person in recorded history, not just some made up person .
There is a lot of history recorded in different ways. One could say that the Mayan, Incan and Egyptian civilizations were historically recorded in cartoons - just look at the hieroglyphs.
The Iliad and Odyssey were limericks passed down from generation to generation through minstrels. History passed down through poem and song.
That doesn't make them any less valuable, correct or incorrect.

They actually do have children's Bible stories broken down in to limericks, and it was kind of interesting.
But really, people aren't interested in reading the Bible because it's too much work. A person will watch the Ten Commandments like 20 or 30 times in there life, but have never read it in the Bible because it's too much damn work.
People who just go ahead and read the Bible are usually the ones who are really on a search for truth and answers. That's like 1 percent of the population, and really even if it was in limericks, if you dont care, you dont care.

~~~ Yes,I'd still believe what I read in The Good Book if it was written in limerick form. I don't think the "F" word was invented until after Jesus was killed though. Anyways, probably more people would read it if it was humorous. ~~~
Touche salesman...*strokes chin, nods head, narrows eyes*
I don't people would be able to take it seriously enough to still believe it. I already don't, but I's because I already regard it as if it were already written in limericks, you know, a joke.
the Fact is is that the entire old testament was actually song stories passed down generation to generation changing each time the story is told (which is why it is impossible to believe that the old testament is accurate), then the church put the song stories into verse and chapter and called it holy
Was there a point to this other than you sharing your creative genius with that limerick?
Has the story ever mattered?
The interpretation seems to be adjustable to fit any particular bias.
It had just as well be limericks, since it is so ridiculous, just like other "holy" books.
