I don't know about that.

I did once, however, use a hair straightener to press some pleats in a skirt because I couldn't find the clothing iron.

It is interesting what people think of in a pinch :) It may work, it would just take a long time! If you have a dryer, dampen the item and dry it for a few minutes...that will get the wrinkles out. Or hang in in on the shower rod while running very hot water...this will steam the wrinkles out.

The hot pan was a good idea!

Try heating a small sauce pan on the stove (med to med hi) and press your clothes. Worked for me when I didn't have an iron.
