This is a trick question -- because there are no good online universities for getting an MBA. You would be better off getting a tattoo on your forehead that says "I have a bad education." It would have the same effect -- and be a lot cheaper.

An MBA from a top 15 school will allow you to get a six figure salary and a job in nearly any field. An MBA from a ranked college not in the top 15 will allow you to increase your salary and will help you get a great job. An MBA from an unranked program will do very little for you in terms of getting more money or a new job -- but may help you get ahead in your current position. But an MBA from an online university will actually make it harder for you to get a good job. Employers will laugh at your resume and throw it away.

The University of Phoenix, for example, is a For Profit corporation that costs more than reputable state universities. They were recently fined a record $9.8MM for sleazy recruiting practices. I've read that they are currently being investigated for padding their placement numbers. In addition, companies like Intel have decided that they will not pay for their employees to take classes there -- because they lack rigor.

Get your MBA at a real school.

Phoenix University and Baker University are very reasonable. AIU on-line is expensive.
