I am due next monday. i havent had a bloody show, and i dont think i have had any contractions (this is my 1st so am unsure about a few things) but my bump keeps goin really hard. sometimes for a few minutes. it doest hurt and is not regular or anything, it is just uncomfortable. it is like a balloon being blown up inside my bump and then being let down again. does anyone know what this is, and how long -possibly- it might be until i go into labour????

It is Braxton Hicks Contractions...

your uterus is gearing up for the real thing... there is of course no way to tell when you will go into labor... you can always walk or have sex if you want to move things along... not always 100% but its worth a try! Braxton Hicks are totally normal and nothing to worry about... email me if you have any questions... I love pregnancy and would love to help a 1st timer!!

EDIT: This DOES NOT sound like labor. You said it doesn't hurt. That is the key word (doesn't). If it was labor and real contractions it would hurt. Also, if you haven't lost your mucus plug I wouldn't be too concerned.

What you are describing are Braxton-Hicks contractions and you did a really good job of it! LOL

I am getting them, too, and it does feel just like something inflating in your belly making it really tight, and then relaxing. It's just a warm-up for labor but it doesn't mean labor is coming soon.

In fact most women get these "practice contractions" beginnning at 4-5 months.

sounds like you are having contractions, keep an eye on them especially if they get consistent in terms of more than 4 an hour. They don't necessarily hurt in the beginning. Good luck!

I THINK YOUR EXPEREINCING BABY MOVEMENT. THE BABY IS TRYING TO STRETCH. DON'T FORGET ITS GETTING REALLY TIGHT IN THERE! IF ITS NOT PAINFUL THEN I WOULDN'T BE TO CONCERNED ABOUT IT BUT IF IT GETS REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE THEN I WOULD TALK TO YOUR OBGYN
