Why not? Creatures that we thought were extinct, such as the coelacanth, have been found. Many myths are based on real situations. I'm sure that what we thought were dragons were, in fact, dinosaurs. Who knows what else we may find. The giant squid, once thought a myth, has been found recently so anything is possible.

I don't believe they ever existed, let alone believe that they STILL exist. The only records of unicorns, fauns, and minotaurs appear in works of fiction. It's possible, but unlikely. Winged unicorns, for example, would not be able to fly without much larger muscles than they're commonly portrayed to have in order for their wings to beat strongly enough to support their weight. Look at the breast muscles of a bird... the unicorn should have comparable muscles.
I do believe, however, that there are likely thousands of animal species that have yet to be discovered.
