i have a couple problems with the mouse on my computer. do any of you have an idea what might be causing this problem? i'm not entirely sure it's just the mouse. here are the problems:

1.) my mouse will sometimes double click when i just click it 1 time or do a click and hold to drag items into another folder causing whatever the mouse is over to open.

2.) sometimes the mouse will not highlight a window i am want to view. i click on it and the mouse will not open the start menu, or select any item on my screen. this happens several times a day, restarting does nothing and i don't have any viruses that i know of. the only solution i've found is to alt tab and then it works fine for a while until it happens again.

3.) finally, there are times i'm trying to drag a group of mp3's into windows media player and when i let go of the files to drop them into the players playlist, they won't go into the player. it's like nothing has happened.

any thoughts? thanks!

Bedause it only happens "sometimes", it is more likely a hardware problem. If it was a setting in Windows, it would not work all the time.

That sounds like one of the mouse buttons is "sticking", causing the double click or the insability to properly pick up or relase items.

Recommend that you replace the mouse as there is no real "repair" to the them.

They sell PC mouse in the dollar store man get a new one. Also check the mouse settings in the control panel. You can adjust the rate at which the pc WILL RECOGNIZE A DOUBLE CLICK.
