If the willingness to forgive is there the forgetting will come. It takes a long time to rebuild trust because there is a lot of risk of being disappointed again. If this is someone you are close to ask what you can do to rebuild the trust and they may or may not be ready to do that yet. If it is someone casual you may just have to build a bridge and move on. I hope you learned from what you did so you can be a better person for your own sake.

Forget !
That is not possible unless you have dementia.

In the case of ' forgive and forget' ---the forget part means to just --LET IT GO--

Don't dwell on it -don't nurse the hurt- or try to 'get even '

It is not humanly possible to intentionally forget something. Especially if you are hurt in some way.

People can forgive because it comes from the heart, but forget... our brain saves everything and only with time doesn't come out unless you or something/someone else does.

Some people don't know how to deal with hurt. They either wallow in it and let it consume them. Learn how to deal with the hurt and letting it go can be hard...
