Mankind faces as it most destructive foes are the forces of global warming. More insidious--and deadly--than Islamic militarism, Rudd has vowed to sign the Kyoto Accord.

Upon receipt of his signature, Australia will leave behind America as the lone industrialized nation to abstain.

My question is this: how do you feel, as an American, that we've yet to accede to the Yakuza Treaty?

It is nice to see other countries have the "Al Gore" syndrom too, not just liberals here in America.

Its unfortunate. For some reason people in the US believe what we choose to believe rather than believe what is evidenced by science. There are too many in this country who believe the word of a small percentage of fringe scientists (and right wing talk show hosts) over the word of the vast majority of the worlds scientific community. The fact that we are the only industrialized nation who are still in denial is pathetic.

Also, our government is pretty much owned by special interests - who are more concerned with profit than the environment.

Nope, don't agree at all. I do my best to use as less energy as possible to conserve. Global Warming is just another scare tactic made up by Al Gore to cushion his own pockets. The World has changed over decades and that is what is is doing now. We are not going to flood because the ice is melting. Look at the Dinosaur age, the Ice Age the world evolves and changes period.

We'd better get our immigration problem straightened out quickly so we don't end up with an illegal Australian population to join the Mexicans and Cubans.
